Baby card

Hi,  Today I am showing you a card I made for a friend of my husband who he plays basketball with and his wife just had a beautiful baby girl.  Baby cards can often be a little difficult as I don't have suitable baby stamp sets.  Anyway I decided to use one of my favourites, Wild about You.  I know it is retired but the animals are so nice in it.  To make it girly I have chosen to use Blushing Bride, a colour I have been trying to avoid but have fallen in love with, just a little late as it will be going at the end of August.  Have to stock up on some paper there I think.  I have only boys so I think why do I need another pink, but evidently I do.

I have used the gorgeous twitterpated dsp, the Scallop duo die and Curly Cute stamp set for the sentiment.  The ribbon is Pear Pizzazz and just lifts the card from being too pink.  The flowers are non Stampin' Up! and are just from my stash.

Well I hope you like it and hopefully suitable for a baby girl.

Thanks for visiting.

21st Birthday

Hi, I know it has been ages since I posted anything.  Sorry.
Well I have something to post today.  We are off to a 21st birthday tonight.  Some good friends of ours, daughter is turning 21.  I decided to make her a card using the guitar from Grunge Rock and then added some love hearts.

This is the card.

The colours I used were Twitterpated dsp, Blushing Bride, Baja Breeze, Island Indigo and Whisper White. I think these colours together look fabulous and will definitely be using them again. I've also used Island Indigo/White twine and on the guitar is two tiny pearls which you can't really see in the photo.

I was really pleased with how it came up and I hope she likes it too. Here's wishing her a fabulous night and a very Happy Birthday.

Wedding cards

Hi,  Well haven't I been slack in blogging.  We went away for a couple weeks during the school holidays and I don't get to do any crafting while away.  We are always to busy at the beach or some river.  By the time we get home I then spend the next week trying to catch up on all the washing and cleaning.  Anyway enough of the boring stuff.

Back in March I attended my cousins wedding, he married a Chinese girl and I understand that red is the lucky colour so I decide to do a black, white and red card.  This was really hard for me as I don't have any wedding stamp sets.  So I went and borrowed one and set out to design something.  I ended up making two different cards and then just chose one for them.  This is what I came up with

They are both using the Marry Me stamp set.  I used white embossing powder to add that little extra glam.  The are both very simple but I suppose I like that style the best.

I liked the second one the most, so made another one to keep on hand for you never know who.

Well till next time; thanks for visting.

Hip-Hip-Hooray!

Hi,  Sorry I haven't blogged.  Who knows where the time goes.  Anyway today I thought I would share a card I made for a birthday.  There is no-one particular in mind but I might keep it for my 3 year old as he really liked it.

I used the monkey from Fox & Friends (SU!) I think he is just the cutest and the balloons are from a punch I have.  I just wanted a really bright fun easy card.

Here is the inside. (Sorry about the quality of the photo).

Hope you like it and I will try to blog again real soon.

Ice Cream Cones

Hi,  On the weekend I spent a bit of my time making some birthday cards.  The school year has started and so have the birthday invites so I thought I better have a few up my sleeve just in case I run out of time or only get a couple of days notice (has happened before).  I ended up making two very similar cards because I liked the first one so much I thought I would make another.

The only difference is a colour and the way the icecream is placed, oh and a cherry.
The dsp I used was Big Top Birthday (SU!) and I punched out some of the swirls using the 3/8" punch to use on the side.

This is the inside of one of the cards.

I was really happy with them and really don't what to give them away but I will.

Hope you have had a great day.

Till next time, thanks for visiting.

Swaps

Hi, The other day I showed you my swap but I forgot to show you Tricia's swap.  She did an icecream cone.  The top icecream you scratch and it smells like strawberry.  Really cool card.

Another swap I did receive was from Tracy, which I loved as I love The Open Sea stamp set, and Tracy always makes beautiful cards.  Nice isn't it.

That's all for today.

Valentine's Swap

Hi,  Today's post is on a card I did for a friend Tricia for a swap.  We both went to the Eureka's Team Day and she did swaps but I didn't.  She however did do me a swap. So I thought I should make something and send it to her.  I know she is had a Valentine's Class Thursday so I did something based around that.  I don't have any Stamp sets that are Valentine's or even the heart punches (Only the small heart, I borrowed the others for the Wedding Acceptance Cards) but I do have Up, Up and Away stamp set and in that is a sentiment which I think is fitting.

This is my swap.

I hope she likes it and had a good Class, I know she puts a lot of effort into them.

Well till next time; thanks for visiting.

Stamp Club

Hi,  This week Stamp Club started back, yeah I always enjoy getting together with others who love making cards and Tracy Penn my fabulous Stampin' Up! demonstrator didn't disappoint us with some lovely cards to make.  There were eight of us all together; two from the previous year and six new faces, so some new ladies to get to know over the next eight months.

The first card we made was using the georgous Field Flowers stamp set which we stamped on Shimmery White cardstock.  I love this cardstock now and think I will have to use it for those Wedding Cards I have to make.  The other colours we used were Calypso Coral, Early Espresso and a little Crumb Cake (Tracy's favourite colour I am sure).

Lovely isn't it.
I don't know if you can see it but around the sentiment we used Shimmer Paint to give it a little bit of sparkle.

The second card we did the Rock 'n' Roll technique which I hadn't done before.  We used the Sprinkled Expressions Stamp Set from Sale-a-bration.

The colours were Island Indigo, Pool Party and Whisper White, which I really like together.

What do you think?

Thanks for visiting.

Wedding Acceptance

Hi,  Hope all is well.  My husband and I have been invited to a Wedding in March and I therefore need a wedding acceptance.  Since I make cards I couldn't go buy one but I really didn't know what sort of card to make.  What is an appropriate Acceptance Card?  Well this is what I have come up with.

I then had the challenge of another one as my Mum & sister were invited as well and needed one too.  So I had to make something slightly different.  It was hard enough coming up with one.  This is the second one I came up with.

What do you think?  Do you think they are acceptable?  Which one do you like better?
Would love to know your thoughts.

The next challenge will be a Wedding Card;  I haven't done one of those yet.

Till next time; thanks for visiting.

Forever Young

Hi, Today's post is on a card we did at stamp club last year but I never got to show it.  It was using the tree from the Forever Young set which we embossed to give it a beautiful shiny effect.  It was a very simple card but one I loved.  Everyone's was slightly different as we added our pearls, different ribbon and twine in different ways.  Even where we placed the newspaper print dsp.

I curled up every corner of my vanilla cardstock but I don't think you can see that from the photo.

Well hope you are having a lovely day and enjoy your weekend.

Thanks for visiting.

50th Birthday

Well I am going well, my third day in a row for posting on my blog. Today I am showing a card I made for a friend's 50th Birthday.  What do they say 50 and Fantastic, well she certainly is.

I used a favourite stamp set of everyone's I think, Artistic Etchings.  I embossed the Effiel Tower, the flowers and the word Amour just to give it a bit more glam.  The flowers are from Punch Potpourri (which is retired).

I decorated the inside as well. The flowers are again embossed.

Well I hoped she liked it and had a fantastic birthday.

Thanks for visiting.

Blast Off!!

Today I thought I would share with you the card I made for my oldest son's 8th birthday.  He loves anything to do with the solar system.  I was given this rocket stamp as a gift.  It is from the stamp set Pun Fun (Stampin' Up! - which is now retired).  Can you see the embossed stars, it is a cuttlebug embossing folder called Christmas Stars I think.

The colours I used are Night of Navy, Real Red, Pumpkin Pie and Whisper White. The red star brad was from my stash.

What do you think?

Ladybird

Hi,
I know I said I was going to post cards and yet again I have ignored my blog.  With Christmas, my son's birthday (card I have to post), and going away for two weeks there hasn't been much time for anything else.

I got a new DSLR camera for my birthday (back in October) and it takes beautiful photos they are however on the rather large size in mega pixels.  So I think I have finally worked out (just have to remember) how to reduce the size so I can load them on my blog.

I did manage to make a few cards last month as my boys have had a number of birthday invites.  Just because Christmas was here didn't stop the birthday parties.  Well I thought I would share one of the birthday cards I made for a couple of the girls.  They both got the same as it was easier to just make two and I did fall in love with this card.  I cased it from the very talented Monica Gale with a few small changes.

Hope you like the card as much as I do.

Christmas Class

Hi,  Well I have totally ignored my blog for such a long time and a friend has been asking me to show these cards since I did the class last month.  Well finally I am.

Last month I did a Christmas Class with my Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Tracy Penn, featuring the Letters from Santa paper.  Here are the cards we made.

You can't see it from the picture but Santa's beard is all sparkly

Here is a look at the inside

I will endeavour to load some more cards in the next few days, I have some birthday cards, my swap I did for Melbourne Regionals and another Christmas class I did last Saturday, so I will show these as well.

Until then have a lovely day / weekend.

Pennant Parade

Hi,  I thought I would share with you some cards I did at a  class last night with my fabulous Stampin' Up! demonstrator Tracy Penn.
The class was using the new Pennant Parade stamp set and matching Pennant punch.  We did four cards in total, two were Christmas cards and two birthday cards.

I especially love the Christmas Cards and it just goes to show you can come up with some great different ideas for this stamp set and punch.  Everyone was coming up with what other things they could do with this set.

This is another card Tracy did for Christmas, we didn't do this one, I just thought I would share.

Tracy's Stampin' Up! site is www.stampinup.net/esuite/home/tracypenn/blog

Hope you like the cards and please feel free to leave a comment. I would love to know what you think.

Thanks sor visiting.

Wild About You

Hi,  Hope all is well.  I have had a busy week with everything going back to the normal routine.  And I have had time to make a few cards.  Well maybe some other things just didn't get done but sometimes you have to just do something for yourself and I needed some birthday cards made so it was the perfect excuse.

My six year old had a twins birthday party on the weekend so I wanted to make two different cards but which were also similar (didn't want one to think one was better than the other).  I decided to use the Wild About You stamp set from Stampin' Up! which has retired, but is a favourite of mine.  I ended up making four cards while I was on a roll, so I thought I would share all of them with you.  I have listed the colours next to them if you are interested.  The Happy Birthday stamp is from Punch Bunch which was from this year's Sale-a-bration.

Colours used:
Real Red, Old Olive, Pacific Point, Daffodil Delight and Whisper White.
The ribbon is non SU! from my stash.
Colours used:
Pacific Point, Kiwi Kiss (retired), Real Red, Whisper White, Pumpkin Pie, Chocolate Chip.

Colours used:
Whisper White, Marina Mist, Real Red, Old Olive.
The marina mist stripe is embossed with the square lattice embossing folder.

Colours used:
Whisper White, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight and Tempting Turquoise.
The ribbon is non SU! from my stash but looks like pumpkin pie.

I am not sure which is my favourite but we gave the twins the Crocodile and Lion.

Enjoy the rest of the day.

Birthday Pinwheels

Hi,  it has bee a while since I posted anything, I have had my youngest with a flu virus and the oldest cut his chin open on play equipment and had to have it stitched.  That then got infected and we have spent a few days in hospital.  A hectic two weeks so hopefully everthing goes back to normal around here.
But while I was in the pinwheel mode I made another card.  See what you think.

I thought it turned out quite well and thought you could even change the saying to "Thinking of You" to cheer up a friend.

Supplies used (All Stampin' Up! unless stated otherwise):
Stamp sets:  Curly Cute
Paper:  Whisper White, Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo, Old Olive, Chocolate Chip and Brights DSP.
Ink:  Chocolate Chip
Tools: Corner rounder, Scallop trim border punch, Square lattice embossing folder
Embellishments: Rhinestones, Old Olive Taffeta ribbon, tooth picks (from the cupboard)

Birthday Pinwheels

Today I did a card with a friend in mind who loves pinwheels at the moment.  She has been making cards herself with pinwheels, much bigger than these one and I thought I would do something a little different for her. You can see hers at www.thespeckledsparrow.blogspot.com.  The card I made here was cased from Monica Gale's site with a few changes.

The photo looks a little blurry but I think you get the idea.  Hope my friend likes this.  Now all I have to do is find someone to give it to.

Supplies used (All Stampin' Up! unless stated otherwise):
Stamp sets:  Curly Cute
Paper:  Whisper White, Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo, Marina Mist, Chocolate Chip and Brights DSP.
Ink:  Chocolate Chip
Tools: Corner rounder, Scallop trim border punch, Square lattice embossing folder
Embellishments: Rhinestones, Marina Mist Taffeta ribbon, tooth picks (from the cupboard)
